The course runs over 29 weeks

The programme aims to give the learner a solid grounding in mechanical engineering, bicycle engineering and design.

Pathway to a Level 7/8 degree in Automotive Engineering with TUS

Mandatory successful completion of online modules ( is required prior to practical training)

On successful completion of the course you will be issued with the following City & Guilds Qualifications:

  • 2850-34 Level 3 in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering
  • 2850-301 Health & safety
  • 2850-302 Engineering principles
  • 2850-307 Principles of mechanical Engineering
  • 2850-312 Tig welding
  • 2850-327 Detailed fitting of materials
  • 2850-329 3D CAD
  • Assured in Advanced Bicycle Technician (Stage 2 & 3)
  • 3528-12 Certificate In Foundation Electronic Engineering
  • 3902-28 Level 2 in cycle mechanics
  • 5546-02 City & Guilds Award in Employability Skills (Preparing for Employment)

Graduates of the  programme have a proven pathway to third level education

  • Our graduates have a proven pathway to join a Level 7/8 Bachelors of Engineering programme (BEng)with TUS in Limerick.
  • Direct entry into second year of the 3 year (Level 7) or 4 year (Level 8) is available to our graduates

FAQ

Are there any financial supports in place for the students?

  • Tuition costs are fully covered by the Education Training Board
  • Students currently in receipt of social welfare will not have there payments effected by enrolling in any of our courses
  • Students not in receipt of social welfare may be entitled to:
    • Training Allowance
    • Travel Allowance
    • Accommodation Allowance
