Healthcare Assistant
Aim
The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skills, and competence to work under supervision in providing support in a variety of Healthcare settings or to progress to further and or higher education and training. In response to a growing ageing population and the development of care of the Older Person services in Ireland, the demand for skilled and competent personnel is expected to grow significantly over the coming years.

Patient Moving and Handling
Occupational First Aid

Communications
Work Experience
Work Experience
Supervised clinical experience in nursing homes, hospitals, and other health facilities is incorporated into this course. This will take the form of one day per week for the academic year.
Career Opportunities
The Healthcare Support Certificate is the Department of Healths recommended qualification for all Healthcare Assistants working in the public and private sector.
