Entry Requirements | Applicants should have reached the statutory school leaving age (16+). QQI Level 4 Major Award or its equivalent is desirable. It is recommended that applicants have achieved at least Junior Certificate or equivalent in a Science subject. Good numerical and communication skills are essential, including verbal and written command of the English language, Common European Framework B1 or equivalent required. Good hand eye co-ordination and good finger dexterity, i.e. the ability to use hairdressing tools and equipment safely when working on clients’ hair. Ability to identify basic shapes and to visualise the end result of a hairstyle. Applicants must express an interest in learning and practicing new skills. Good presentation skills. Experience working full-time or part-time in a commercial hair salon is an advantage but not a necessity. Good colour vision is essential as a colour vision test is required prior to commencement on course. Non-EU/EEA applicants must have permission to work in Ireland. |
