Entry Requirements | - MINIMUM - -Applicants must be 16+ years of age on entry to the course. -QQI 4 Major Award, Leaving Certificate or equivalent standard with a pass in technical drawing and mathS. -Good communication & numerical skills. -Competent written and spoken English (CEFR B1 or Higher). -Non-EU/EEA applicants must have permission to work in Ireland. -Mature applicant route available for applicants aged 23+. -ADDITIONAL - -Good spatial visualisation and form perception. -Must have basic level of computer skills. -Competency in performing conventional draughting tasks is desirable. Please note: The Level 3 Certificate is aligned to Level 5 on the NFQ Additional certification awarded on course: Word Processing – ICS Skills Spreadsheets – ICS Skills |
Carear Path | CAD Technicians are employed by companies and organisations in various sectors, e.g. construction, structural and mechanical engineering, manufacturing, local authorities and architectural consultants. They generally work as part of an engineering, design or development team to produce the detailed 2D drawings and 3D models required at the various stages of a project’s design and implementation. They work closely with engineers, technicians, suppliers, quantity surveyors and clients. |
