Courses That Award: Leaving Certificate
The Leaving Certificate and its various related programmes is placed at Levels 4 and 5 of the NFQ. This curriculum is the final course in the Irish secondary school system. This programme takes a minimum of two years, however, some students opt to do an extra ‘Transition Year’, which makes it three years after finishing their junior cyle, when they sit the Leaving Cert Exam. This award may lead to a further education and training award at Level 5 or higher. This qualification is awarded by the State Examinations Commission (Department of Education and Skills).
