Considering a career in the Public Services, working in government or politics, for a government department or local authority, or in the civil service?

Public service covers a very wide variety of career paths. You could work in emergency services, such as the National Ambulance Service or as a firefighter for one of the Fire Service authorities. There are also careers in the Defence Forces, such as the Army, Air Corps or Naval Service. Other options include careers with An Garda Síochána or the Irish Prison Service, as well as careers in the Civil Service, in government and in politics.
