The Wexford Campus of IT Carlow has introduced a new Computing Summer Camp aimed at 4th Year secondary school students, taking place on Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th of June 2019.
About The Creative Computing Summer Camp
The theme for the inaugural camp is ‘Creative Computing’ and is focused around the creative application of technology in a modern environment. The Computing Summer Camp is divided into three themes; Web Design, Coding and Hardware.
Each theme will be facilitated by the team of enthusiastic academics and presented in a fun and relaxed environment and lunch will be provided on both days to all participants.
What will they cover?
Web design skills and how to creatively apply digital technology
Coding (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Python)
Hands on practical work with Raspberry Pi and Linux OS.
The camp will culminate on Thursday afternoon with a workshop where participants will design and build a project which will be judged by a panel from industry, there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and a goodie bag for all participants.
This event is supported by IT Carlow Wexford Campus and HEA.
