South East Technological University (SETU) is hosting a CAO Information Evening at its campus in Carlow on Wednesday, 17th of January, 2024, from 4:30pm to 7pm.
As the deadline for CAO applications approaches on 1st of February, SETU’s CAO Information Evening is an opportunity for students, and their parents and guardians, to visit the university’s state-of-the-art campus in Carlow and speak to lecturers and staff about the wide range of career-focused courses on offer. Experts will be on hand to discuss courses in the areas of engineering, computing, science, built environment, business, humanities, sport, and health sciences. There will be campus tours throughout the evening and representation from SETU’s sports department and student societies, giving prospective students an insight into life at SETU.
Speaking about the event, Alison Moore, School Liaison Officer at SETU in Carlow, said, “We’re delighted to welcome students and their families to the CAO Information Evening during this very important time in their journey to college life. We understand that choosing where to study is a big decision and our aim is to help make that decision easier by giving prospective students a first-hand experience of the great opportunities on offer at SETU.”
A key highlight will be talks from SETU’s academic administration and student affairs team, who will take students through the CAO process and how to best approach an application. The event will also be an opportunity to speak with staff from the university’s finance and grants departments, including its HEAR programme, and SETU’s disability access programme, DARE.
Another addition to the CAO information Evening for 2024, is our ‘Explore Your Options’ zone, where university staff, careers professionals, and students will provide general information on course options and potential career paths to support your CAO choices.
