The Mary Immaculate College (MIC) Virtual Open Day will take place on Wednesday 27 October (9.30am-5pm).The day will provide the perfect opportunity to  virtually explore the College’s Limerick and Thurles campuses and facilities.

MIC’s Student Recruitment Officer, Dr Patrick Cosgrove says “Our lecturers will be online to tell you all about our 13 undergraduate degree programmes in Psychology, Liberal Arts, Early Childhood Care and Education, Contemporary and Applied Theatre Studies and Primary and Post-Primary Teaching.  During our Live Talks you will have the opportunity to submit any questions you may have for our lecturers about, for example, programme content, placement options, study abroad or career opportunities. Members of our Admissions and Student Recruitment teams, along with current students, will also be online throughout the day answering queries on everything from entry requirements to how to juggle study with your social life and much more.”

“Potential students, including mature students, can access lots of useful information on the MIC CAO Hub both in the lead up to the Virtual Open Day, after the event and right up to the CAO Deadline.  I recommend that you explore the site and take some time to virtually tour our campuses, learn about student life outside lectures and hear from current students about their experience at MIC. It’s also where you can request a copy of the brand-new MIC Undergraduate Prospectus and where you can register to stay up to date on undergraduate study news.”

Information on Elite Sports Scholarships,  CAO Points Concession Scheme and Entrance Scholarships is also available on the CAO Hub.

Mikey O’Doherty, second year Bachelor of Arts student at MIC Limerick added:”Come to MIC! You’ll feel so welcome and everyone is so nice and you get great support. Making friends was easy. Many of them will be friends for life. It’s also very accessible and it’s very easy to get around. I can do it now with my eyes closed! The programmes are amazing. I’m studying History and English through the Bachelor of Arts at MIC Limerick and love it. Attend the Virtual Open Day, work hard and apply to MIC. It will be the beginning of a great experience.”

And Beibhinn Byrne, fourth year BA in Education Business Studies and Religious Studies student at MIC Thurles said “It’s turned out that I have had far more opportunities at MIC Thurles than many of my friends on bigger campuses. I’ve put myself forward for a lot more. It’s so nice to have such great supports on campus too. Everyone at MIC Thurles, be it a lecturer, librarian or another member of the College community, is there to push you to be your best as a person and as a teacher.”

Questions can be submitted during the Live sessions or in advance to StudentRecruitment@mic.ul.ie

Live links to all programme presentations and Q & A sessions will be available at www.mic.ie/CAO closer to the event date.
