mac-group is a business that has pledged to give back to the community and the schools that provided the platform for its own accomplishments so far. Having established its own Earn and Learn Academy this year, mac offers prospects for talented students to avail of opportunities such as a bursary scheme, work experience, apprenticeships, industrial placements and sponsored part-time study.
About the Earn and Learn Academy
Paul McKenna, Founder and Group CEO of mac-group is a former pupil of St Patricks’ High School, Keady and awarded two local students with a £3,000 bursary each on behalf of mac-group. Studying construction-related degrees these students will not only be financially supported by mac-group each year of their course but are also guaranteed a rich understanding of the construction industry through industrial placement.
Students awarded entry to the mac-group bursary scheme will also be recipients of an offer of permanent employment upon completion of their degree. Niall McCrink, a former pupil of St Paul’s High School, Bessbrook and Sarah Lennon, a former pupil of St Patrick’s High School, Keady are the first entrants to the mac-group bursary scheme. They are presented with cheques and assurances of support for the next three years by Paul McKenna, Group CEO and Brendan Moley, Group Interiors, MD. Brendan is also a former pupil of St Paul’s High School.
Past Successes
These deserving students were nominated for the award by the Principal of St Paul’s, Jarlath Burns and Margaret Traynor, Head of Careers, St Patrick’s, who joined them along with the parents of the students on the day of the presentation.
