Dublin City University has reported a 15.6% increase in CAO applications for the 2021/22 academic year. More than 47,000 applications were received by DCU for Level 8 courses in 2021.
Nursing undergraduate degree programmes saw a 25% increase in applications on last year.
Electronic & Computer Engineering applications were also up 70%, alongside Computer Sciences up 54% and Engineering up 29%.
Communications and media applications also rose with the Joint Honours in Media Studies up 38%.

Speaking about the rise in applications, Prof. Daire Keogh, President of Dublin City University said:
