The CAO Late application facility opens today and remains open until 1st May 2022.
The CAO standard deadline passed on 1st February 2020. CAO recorded 78,162 applications, which were 1,141 fewer than 79,303 in 2021.
Last year recorded a final figure for applications after late applications were accepted at 84,817.

Before Applying:
- If you previously started your 2022 CAO application and have received a 2022 application number, proceed instead to the “My Application” facility where you may view/edit your application.
- Read the 2022 CAO Handbook
- Read the Course Changes to view important changes to courses.
In any one year, you may NOT present more than one application. If you think you may have already submitted an online application or you have already received a 2022 CAO application number, please proceed instead to the “My Application” facility. There will be no refunds given to applicants who make more than one application.
Applicants can also change their mind about course choices between May 5 and July 1.
The Central Applications Office processes applications for undergraduate courses in Irish Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Decisions on admissions to undergraduate courses are made by the HEIs who instruct CAO to make offers to successful candidates.
