HPAT-Ireland, the Health Professions Admission Test, which is used to assist with the selection of students into medicine and other health profession degree programmes, is open for registrations for 2022 entry.
Registrations will close on 21st January 2022 at 5.15pm GMT.
Late registrations will be accepted up until 2 February 2022 5.15pm GMT on payment of a late fee. An exceptional late registration is available until 4 February 2022 at 5.15pm GMT. The exceptional late registration is available only to candidates who have submitted their application to the CAO by 1 February 2022 at 5.15pm GMT.
Due to the requirement to lock in final testing numbers, HPAT-Ireland is not able to make exceptions and cannot accept registrations after the exceptional late registration deadline of 5.15pm GMT on 4 February 2022.
Before registering for HPAT – Ireland, all MEDICINE applicants should first get their CAO number. To get a CAO number please apply online at the CAO website. If a paper application is submitted, your CAO number will not be available in time to register for HPAT – Ireland. Candidates should also download and read the HPAT – Ireland 2021 Information Booklet.
Please Note: Applicants to the MSc in Occupational Therapy and MSc Speech and Language Therapy are not required to obtain a CAO number to sit HPAT-Ireland. The only way to register for HPAT – Ireland is online. To register candidates must create an online account and provide a valid email address. This email address will be used for all communication from HPAT – Ireland Office. When creating an account candidates should ensure that their name and date of birth matches the identification document that they will use on the test day. These details will also be printed on your Statement of Results. Once the online account has been activated it can be used for any future registrations.
The option to register for HPAT – Ireland will only appear in the online account while registrations for the test are open. Candidates need to select the test that they wish to register for, fill in the registration form and submit the payment. Upon successful completion of the registration, a registration confirmation and payment receipt will be sent to the registered email address. The status of the registration can be checked in the online account at any time. Candidates can amend their registration details in their online account.
ACER reserves the right in its absolute discretion to refuse or cancel a registration in any circumstances where ACER considers the application for registration or the registration once completed is not bona fide, or the registration fee as applicable is not received in full and as cleared funds by the payment date or the late registration date given.
