The ideal Analytics candidate will be familiar with any number of the following analytics skills.
Data science knowledge with any of Python, SAS, R, Scala, PySpark or other relevant coding language and data science technologies
Knowledge of machine learning modelling techniques and how to fine-tune those models e.g. Random Forest, XGBoost, Neural Networks, Markov chains, etc
Clustering, linear regression and basic statistics
Knowledge of data warehouse tools and database technologies e.g., SQL, ETL, No-SQL and other Big Data technologies
Knowledge of how data can be used to solve business problems
Data visualisation/reporting tools like Tableau, Qlik, Looker or Power BI
Cloud data platforms (AWS, MS Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
Familiarity in every skill is not required as candidates will be aligned to one of the capability areas (Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Strategy, Data Visualisation) based on their knowledge.
As well as demonstrate the following:
Expertise in Microsoft Office tools
Strong teamwork skills
Problem solving skills
Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills
Ability to adapt and learn in a continuously changing environment
Experience in leadership roles in extra-curricular activities
Creativity, initiative and an entrepreneurial mindset
