Courses by Dundalk Institute of Technology - Awarding Body
Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) is one of the leading providers of higher education in the North East of Ireland.
History of DkIT
The Institute was one of the original network of Regional Technical Colleges. These were set up in the 1970s and had an emphasis on business, engineering and science. However, DkIT has since expanded its range of programmes. These now include hospitality, humanities, music, creative arts and nursing. In addition, apprenticeship courses have long been a feature of the Institute. Therefore, there has been continual expansion in the apprenticeship provisioning.
The Academic Council assists the Governing Body in the planning, co-ordination, development and overseeing of the educational work of the Institute. This protects, maintains and develops the academic standards of the courses and activities of DkIT.
