One World Week 2022 is taking place from November 19th – 26th featuring a week of youth-led awareness raising, education and action.
Take a look at what we have in store for you!
This year’s theme is looking at the relationship and connection that young people have to a globalised world.
Covid has shown us how connected we truly are across the planet. What takes place in one part of the world can have massive ripples and repercussions in Dublin, in Cork, across Europe, and the Global South. The reality is that we are connected through every aspect of our lives; daily choices, our thoughts and dreams, the tv shows we watch, the clothes we wear, and the food we eat.
But this has come with a cost. A human cost and an environmental cost. We now stand at the crossroads of globalisation. To the left we have suffering and devastation, to the right we have human flourishing and growth. The decisions we make will determine which path we will take.
How well young people understand their relationship and connections with global economics, culture, the environment, political forces, and technology may determine the sustainable future of the planet!
