Due to the continuing COVID-19 shutdown, 13 of the planned STEPS Engineering Your Future (STEPS EYF) Transition Year programmes were unfortunately cancelled. This has been a big disappointment to the hundreds of TY students around the country who had secured places on the programme. The programme coordinators had put a huge amount of work into preparing for the programmes this year. We look forward to big plans for 2021.
STEPS Engineering Your Future
While it’s impossible to replicate the hands-on, immersive experience of the STEPS EYF programme at home we have developed three engineering themed videos and challenges aimed at TY students who are interested in finding out more about engineering as a career. The video content is developed and delivered by Mark Langtry Head of Science and Sport at Explorium.
Videos
The STEPS Engineering Your Future @ Home series comprises three videos. Each video will introduce a topic, discuss it and deliver a relevant challenge.
Challenge
At the end of each video there will be instructions to join in the challenge. Each challenge is designed to be done at home with no special equipment and will encourage students to use their creativity and imagination. Entries can be in the format of videos, text, images etc and should be emailed to STEPS by the relevant deadline date.
