The Leaving Cert can be a stressful and scary time for many. If you’re finding it hard to cope with the pressure and study demands, it’s important that you share your fears with someone. Here are a few places that you could contact for support…

Teen-line Ireland – if you feel alone, worried, or just need someone to talk to; call the Teen-line confidential helpline on 1800 833 634. It’s open on Wednesdays 3pm-6pm, Thursdays, Fridays, on Saturdays 9pm – 12 midnight and on Sundays from 8pm-11pm.

Samaritans – Samaritans provides confidential non-judgemental emotional support, 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, are worried about something, feel upset or confused, or just want to talk to someone. You could choose to email at jo@samaritans. org or write to your local branch; the listings of which you can find here.

National Parents Council Post Primary – A helpline will begin operating on the day of the Leaving Cert results in the summer of 2008; the number will be 1800 265 165.
